“Life moves on, whether we act as cowards or heroes. Life has no other discipline to impose, if we would but realize it, than to accept life unquestioningly. Everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from, everything we deny, denigrate or despise, serves to defeat us in the end. What seems nasty, painful, evil, can become a source of beauty, joy, and strength, if faced with an open mind. Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such.” Henry Miller
It is not about trusting anything or anyone other than my own purpose and my ability to take what life throws at me and use it for advancement and not let it defeat me.
Some people excuse everything awful that comes at you by claiming it was what was meant to be, like we deserve tragedy or needed it. Some people use this idea to excuse the bad behaviour of other people as if they were doing you a favour by backing up the bus and taking another go at you once they drove over you in the first place. “If I have harmed anyone, in any way, either knowingly or unknowingly through my own confusions, I ask forgiveness.
If anyone has harmed me, in any way, either knowingly or unknowingly through their own confusions, I forgive them.

Like I can never ever live on the top of a mountain.
My kids would ask me, “What kind of crop is that mommy?” They turned to me for everything. So naturally when they saw a white cow, they asked, “What do you call a white cow mommy?
My answer? Continue reading

It is easy to talk about being kind to the poor and the needy when they are miles away from us and not impacting our daily lives. It is easy to champion issues everyone can agree with as wrong. It is easy to be sure we would never make the kinds of mistakes other human beings have made when we have never had to face the kind of lives they are.
Even liars and fools often know what people want to hear but the real litmus test comes in how we live our lives when no-one is looking. Are we kind to the ordinary people? Do we speak with compassion? Do we care about other people’s rights? Are we honest? Continue reading
